Ingredients:
350 g wholemeal flour
150 g white flour
1 package dried yeast (approx. 7 g)
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
300 ml lukewarm water
30 ml MaxAroma Nut Flavour
50 g sugar
50 g walnuts, chopped
5-6 leaves fresh bear’s onion
Preparation:
Mix the flours, yeast, sugar and salt in a large bowl. Add the olive oil, MaxAroma Nut Flavour and lukewarm water and knead the dough. If necessary, you can add a little water or flour to obtain a flexible dough. When the dough has come together, knead in the nuts to distribute them evenly. Tip the dough into a clean bowl and cover with a tea towel. Let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until the dough doubles in size. When the dough has risen, shape the loaf and place it in a sandwich tin lined with baking paper and leave to rest for about 30 minutes more.
Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 250 degrees.
After the dough has risen again, place the pan in the oven and bake for about 20 minutes at 250 degrees C. After 20 minutes, moisten the top of the bread with water and, using a brush, brush the leaves of the bear’s onion in any pattern you like, then bake for another 15 minutes at 210 degrees C.
Once baked, remove from the tin and leave to cool on a wire rack. When it is completely cool, slice it and make delicious sandwiches with your favourite toppings!
